STD 3-4 EVS VIDEO-QUIZ by GIET

Environmental Education as a Curriculum Area: Environmental Education is included as a subject in Std. 3 to 5.  Environmental education integrates the concepts and issues of science (natural and physical) and social sciences (natural, physical, social, cultural).  In order to reduce the curriculum burden of young children, the environment has included these issues in mathematics and language instead of being included separately in Std-1 and Std-2.

Environmental education has advocated at the primary level to engage, awaken, encourage and sensitize children to the prevailing environmental issues and to the realities around them.  Creating conditions for children to learn for environmental education is crucial to the environment (including natural, physical, social and cultural matters) in which the child himself will usually connect with the extended environment from home, family and school environment.

Direct information definitions and descriptions should be avoided, instead efforts should be made from which children can create knowledge on their own.  During this process they can use various references of knowledge in addition to the textbook.

Real-world exposure should provide an opportunity for children to meet the challenges of social issues such as gender, non-mainstreaming, child labor, illiteracy, gender and class inequalities from rural and urban areas, the elderly, the disabled, the sick, etc.  In addition to the educational materials, the classroom environment and the teaching process should be included.

It must be ensured.  As such, it nurtures the learner's diversity in terms of learner's abilities (including paralysis), speed, method, etc.  Real global issues related to the environment (such as conservation of natural resources, conservation care as well as environmental justice and other environmental issues) are also important.  Initiatives should be taken to build a strong bridge between children and their environment.

How children’s decisions and reactions affect the environment can also help children develop their knowledge and some skills to face the challenges surrounding what should be considered during the study and teaching of the environment.  Through it the child becomes an advocate and protector of the environment.  Ultimately, this will help develop a stable future.
