Forest Pandit Award In order to attract and encourage private individuals in afforestation activities in the state, the state government has decided on a certificate on forest pundits and a state level reward scheme.  The first prize is Rs.  50,000, second prize Rs.  25000 and third prize Rs.  10000 is provided.

The strategy of the scheme will include individual initiatives, technical, infrastructural facilities, training and modern facilities to take tribal communities into a new era of global connectivity, information technology and value addition.  Progress under Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana In this scheme vision for poverty alleviation, double income of five families, agricultural diversification project, integrated dairy development project, skill development training program are undertaken.  In the year 2015-16, covering 1.5 lakh beneficiaries under this program, their annual income has increased significantly.

These works have been carried out at Bajana (Surendranagar), Gira Falls (Dang), Kilad-Mahal, Kanewal Lake (Anand), Lion Sanctuary (Amreli), Dinosaur Fossil Park, Kheda etc.  The project will cover development of basic infrastructure facilities, development of parking and sidewalks, restrooms, toilet blocks, shower rooms, drinking water and other facilitie.
