1. Baking Soda

As a solution to many skin related problems, we use baking soda as a home remedy. It is very beneficial for the skin. But excessive use of anything causes harm.

Dr Pathania says about the use of baking soda, “Baking soda badly affects the pH balance of the skin. Naturally, the pH value of the skin ranges from 4.5 to 5.5. While the pH level of baking soda is 9, which is alkaline. Its alkaline effect removes its natural protection against natural damage.

She adds, “Baking soda has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used in the manufacture of personal care, oral care and over the counter medicines. Social media hacks are promoting the misuse of baking soda among people. which are very harmful. So it is important to keep this in mind.”

2. Toothpaste

According to Dr Neha, using toothpaste on the skin can cause skin breakouts, sensitivity, itching and dryness. The process by which toothpaste is made is not suitable for the skin. By using toothpaste, the pH balance of your skin becomes unbalanced, due to which problems like acne and peeling of the skin are seen.

3. Vitamin E

Vitamin E is very beneficial for the skin. But its excessive use can cause skin problems such as itching and irritation. Many people have to face rashes and inflammation due to its use. Excessive use of vitamin E on the face triggers many types of allergic reactions.

Applying raw garlic directly on the face can cause skin damage and irritation. On the other hand, not everyone's skin is the same. Therefore, in some people, it can cause problems like skin allergies, eczema, skin inflammation and watery blisters.
