How Ayurveda can help to remove kidney stones from your body

How Ayurveda can help to remove  kidney stones from your body

What are stones made of?

Kidney stones are made up of many different chemical compounds. Most (65%) stones are made from a chemical called calcium oxalate. About 15% of the stones contain ammonium magnesium phosphate, 10% of the stones contain calcium phosphate, and 5% of the stones contain uric acid.

The cause varies according to the type of stone. In many cases (about half the cases) the exact cause of the stones is not known.

What are the factors responsible for stone formation?

The cause of the stones is not yet clear. However, it has been found that some factors accelerate the process of stone formation. The function of the kidneys is to flush out unwanted elements from the body while maintaining the amount of water in the body.

When dehydration occurs in the body, the kidneys try to excrete the least amount of water and the most waste through urine. This causes the urine to darken and increase the concentration of the substances excreted in the urine. When the urine becomes very concentrated, crystals start forming in it and once the crystal is formed, more and more elements are added to it and it gradually becomes a stone.

In addition, urinary tract infections, vitamin A deficiency and other factors can also cause the onset of stones. When the body's endocrine balance is disturbed (e.g. parathyroid hormone is increased) more calcium is excreted in the urine and the chances of stones are increased. Prolonged bedwetting reduces calcium in the bones and is excreted in the urine, and urinary retention in the kidneys during bedwetting is responsible for stones.

Decreased levels of citrate and colloidal substances in the urine also increase the risk of gallstones. Another condition called gout is an increase in uric acid levels in the body which leads to uric acid stones which are not visible on X-rays (seen in sonography). Apart from this many other types of stones are formed due to different reasons.

How do you know if you have kidney stones?

Many people do not know that they have stones in their body for years. A stone that stays inside and does not move does not cause any external problems to the person. Pain and other problems occur when stones pass from the kidneys to the ureters. Pain from one side of the back to the thigh is caused by urinary tract stones. Frequent urination, inflammation of the urethra, and urgency to urinate occur when stones reach the bladder.

X-rays of the kidneys and urinary tract show most of the calcium-rich stones. Sometimes an X-ray is done for some other reason and accidentally the stone appears. An examination called intravenous pylography is performed to determine the exact location of the stone. In which the function of the kidneys is also estimated. Ultrasonography also shows that the size of the kidney stones and the obstruction in the urinary tract due to the stones can lead to severe damage to the kidneys and in such patients it is necessary to remove the stones by surgery or some other means. source link
